Of course, it is our website but by default, there will be some WordPress pages, posts, and comments. Without deleting that if we start to build our website then those pages will also get indexed along with our website.

It looks quite awkward for our users too, so our first step is to remove those default post, pages, and comments.

After completing the WordPress customizations back up all your changes. It is always better to maintain a regular maintenance schedule for a website.

To make your website visible to Google go to your admin dashboard > Settings > Reading and uncheck the “Discourage search engine from indexing this site”

The reason for doing this at the last is to avoid your website showing the WordPress default pages and post. Because after you completed all your WordPress customizations when you search for your website in GOOGLE you will get “Yet Another WordPress website” you will bang yourself. Google bots take their own time in indexing your website until the update your website description remains the same.
